At HP, we support the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and recognize the importance of contributing to a more sustainable future. We have existing programs that contribute to the progress of 16 of the 17 goals and continue to drive innovations that help achieve them. We aim to enable our stakeholders and partners to contribute toward more equitable, inclusive, and sustainable development. We have taken a step further by reporting against the SDG Ambition Benchmarks developed by the UN Global Compact. These benchmarks allow HP to further demonstrate how HP aligns actions to the SDGs.

As we reach the conclusion of our 2025 sustainability goals, we are marking a major milestone on our sustainability journey. Across climate, circularity, and operations, our teams delivered strong progress toward our ambitious goals, driving measurable impact across our value chain and laying the foundation for our next chapter.

We also reaffirm our commitment to our sustainability strategy and have chosen to center our efforts on three flagship goals designed to strengthen resilience and long-term growth:

  • Reduce value chain emissions by 50% by 2030 (compared to 2019), and achieve net-zero emissions by 20401
  • Achieve 100% renewable electricity in our global operations by 2040
  • Accelerate the Future of Work for 150 million people by 2030, since the beginning of 2021.2

These goals will help us respond to increasing stakeholder expectations, evolving regulatory landscapes, and the accelerating transition toward a low-carbon economy. They also reflect our learning over time, as our ambitions evolve in response to progress, challenges, and external conditions.

Further, they reflect our continued experience that pursuing sustainability creates business value by mitigating risk, lowering costs, strengthening supply chain resilience, and improving customer experiences.

As we refocus our efforts, we are also transitioning our other goals into an internal management framework. This will help us allocate our resources and prioritize actions that most directly contribute to impact.

1 Absolute reduction of Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions compared to 2019. Excludes non-HP paper consumed during product use. As of November 2024, these goals were approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). SBTi-validated long-term target is for 90% reduction in Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions by 2040.

Our programs aim to accelerate digital equity through providing access to at least one of the following: technology, digital literacy, and AI or digital skills content. Digital equity data includes both direct and indirect reach. Indirect reach is sometimes based on estimates using multipliers.
