All HP PCs and monitors ship with energy-savings settings enabled.
Power management features can save energy by automatically switching the PC or monitor into a standby, low-power mode after a predetermined period of inactivity.
Many customers disable these features because they misunderstand their effect. As a result, they use more energy than necessary. HP supports efforts to educate customers about power-management features through industry-wide associations.

Our design advancements in hardware and software allow us to deliver an exceptional experience that optimizes both performance and power for our customers through our devices. Many of our devices now have Smart Sense Mode as the default mode or a variation of Smart Sense features. Smart Sense mode is an intelligently adaptive user experience, enhanced through the use of Ai and other intelligent algorithms/features to adapt the system to the user.
In a third party study, it proved that in addition to great noise and thermal controls, a device with Smart Sense mode could also experience up to 25% faster max performance, up to 35% less power consumption between Performance and Smart Sense modes, and 44% increased office productivity battery life.
These features combined result in a device with Smart Sense using 30% less energy and CO2e in the use phase, compared to a device without Smart Sense.
A newly launched feature of Smart Sense is called Smart Resource Optimizer (SRO). SRO auto-adjusts system resources and reduces power consumption based on personal user needs. It can identify and prioritze foreground applications while reprioritizing background applications. This results in in up to 15% performance improvement in heavy multitasking workloads while also achieving up to 15% power savings!
Additionally, we have new 65W GaN adapter that is 40% smaller, 42% lighter, 90% recycled plastic, and has 93% efficiency. This improvement allows plugged in devices to use more energy efficiently. These are available today.
