Most of HP’s Compliance Documentation from Worldwide Technical Regulations (WTR) side are based on the product’s Regulatory Model Number (RMN). The Regulatory Model Number is the main product identifier in the regulatory documentation and test reports; this number should not be confused with the marketing name or the product numbers. This is the case because 1 RMN may correspond to, for example, 20 different Product or Part Numbers that correlate to different configurations of the same Host Unit. The RMN also sometimes unifies a few similar host products with minor or nonexistent technical differences but with different Marketing Model Names (MMN) (sometimes called description) which do not necessitate a different set of Documentation and testing. For example:

HSN-Q38C-6 (RMN) corresponds with HP ProBook 460 16-inch G11 Notebook PC (MMN), HP EliteBook 660 16-inch G11 (MMN) and HP EliteBook 6 G1i 16-inch Notebook AI PC (MMN), for example.

Or Product numbers 1PV86A (PN), 1PV87A (PN), 1PV89A (PN) and 1PV51A (PN) all correspond to BOISB-1807-00 (RMN).

Please note that not all HP products have a corresponding RMN, such as: Components, NON-IT products such as backpacks or Wall stands, spare parts, services etc.

Considering all of the above, when requesting compliance documents, please make sure that you have provided all the available product identification information you have for the products in question. Sometimes the product’s name/description/MMN is not enough for us to identify the RMN of the product.
