While it is the producer’s/holder's obligation to classify waste, HP's analysis for the purposes of our Planet Partners Program for cartridge take-back and recycling is that all HP original toner cartridges and Samsung original toner cartridges, used as intended by HP, can be classified under EWC code 16 02 16 (non-hazardous components from electrical and electronic equipment), and all HP original inkjet cartridges, used as intended by HP, except those on the non-return list posted at www.hp.com/go/recycle, can also be classified under EWC code 16 02 16 (non-hazardous components from electrical and electronic equipment).

HP’s analysis for the few HP original inkjet cartridges on the non-return list posted at www.hp.com/go/recycle, that have been used as intended by HP is that they can be classified under EWC code 16 02 15 (hazardous components from electrical and electronic equipment).

As for used 3D printing powder and used 3D printed products, they can be classified under EWC code 12 01 05. For more information, please refer to the attached documents.
